What an exciting first week back! We have spent some time getting to know each other and learning all about ourselves. We have created a Class 3D display all about us to share some of our favourite things. We even contributed to the KS2 reading display by sharing our favourite books - we discovered that there was an impressive variety within the class! We also worked together to develop a set of class rules which we feel will help us to create a positive learning environment. On Tuesday, we revisited our School Learning Outcomes (SLOs). We discussed what each one meant and thought about how we can demonstrate each outcome. To put our thinking to the test, we had a house team lego building competition! We had to work as a team to design and create a building out of lego/building blocks. We knew that, to be a successful team, we would have to show each of the values. Below are pictures of our finished buildings and some of the children's reflections on how they applied the SLOs to their learning: Critical Thinkers:
‘Our cube towers fell down so we tried not to speak loudly and we tried not to touch the tables so that they didn’t move’
‘I enjoyed building the castle because it was fun’
‘I listened to Tiara’s idea to make a castle’
‘We helped each other when we were building'
